Paymentsense Company History
UK based company Paymentsense was founded in 2010 by two entrepreneurs who had the goal of providing payment processing solutions for SMEs at an affordable price. Paymentsense was founded as a result of the high fees and expensive services that small to medium enterprises are often faced with when it comes to card processing. Since 2010, they have become one of the fastest growing companies in Europe and, according to their website, are now the largest merchant service provider in Europe. Their services are currently provided to over 60,000 SMEs in the UK and they are trusted with processing over five billion pounds worth of card payments each year.
Paymentsense vs Worldpay
Worldpay is a global leader in payment processing and is trusted by many small businesses in the UK. The two competitors have a lot to offer which is why they are both incredibly popular options. Had a smooth experience dealing with payment sense. Even when I wasn’t sure what exactly we needed for our business and when we needed it, the agent I dealt with was quite patient and followed up with me for up to 4 months till I finally made the order.” Jide Ajagbe via Trustpilot.

Best customer relations I have had for some time. Ben is an asset to the business.” Dawn via Trustpilot.
Terrible! Tricked me into thinking I’d signed a 12 month contract but it has a cancellation fee for up to 60 months! Feel absolutely ripped off!” Joanna Dodson via Trustpilot.
Do not use this service and fully enquire before you agree as they do not provide anything for you apart from a weekly transaction statement.
Hidden charges, high rates and still not your only “service provider” so basically they are a third party who take a unreasonable percentage from the business owners income and in return they send you weekly statements of your transactions in fancy colours.
Pathetic.” Mr Yaz via Trustpilot.
Paymentsense Merchant Account Summary
It can be challenging to choose a merchant account and payment processing provider, ultimately the best way to find a suitable company for your business is to shop around. By requesting quotes and comparing what each provider has to offer you’ll find one that offers the services you’re looking for at competitive rates. Paymentsense has an excellent reputation with smaller businesses but it is essential to read and understand the contract before signing it as many of the negative reviews were concerning fees, contract length and the difficulty and/or cost of getting out of a contract with them.
